Blog's and forums are a great addition to any website, they really help to add a ‘human’ angle to the whole concept. The internet can often appear as a faceless medium, viewers and site owners never really communicate, if a blog or a forum is added to the site they provide a great way for the website owner to add their own comments and views.
A blog is a great way to broadcast news and views, not only via your own site but also via blog sites. Your blog page can be sent to a variety of sites that display blog posts, this really helps to market your site quickly to a huge audience. This will also help to increase the page rank of the main website, as the internet will be peppered with links pointing back to the location of your blog........your site, this means that Google will see you site as a popular site and will therefore allocate a higher page rank.
As well as writing our own blog scripts from scratch, we also set up and install Wordpress blog's. So......whats’ so great about Wordpress.....well, Google loves it, it has loads of great add-ons that make marketing your blog a breeze. A decent Wordpress blog is vital to help promote your site.
The next area to consider is the addition of a forum, the great thing about forums is that they are the best way to listen to your customers... and listening to your customers is a good thing for all of us to do from time to time!. Forums are also great as we already know that Google likes lots of fresh content to be added to your site and by adding a forum to your site, every time a guest makes a post this is classed as fresh content. The site will then grow naturally, not only will it be a great resource for viewers but it will also start rocketing up through the page ranks with Google and the other major search engines.
